2012 XJ Navigation Update

   December 20, 2011

Jaguar Announces Updates to XJ Navigation System - Jaguar Land Rover Cincinnati

We are very pleased to announce running mid-model year changes to the 2012 XJ that will significantly improve the customer experience with revised HMI (or "Human Machine Interface") hardware and software. These changes to the Touchscreen and hard button panel are designed to
help address some of the issues with the HMI that have been a source of customer complaint.

The changes include:Photobucket
1. New Glass Touchscreen -- offers improved touch and feel with a more positive and solid feeling of contact (the previous screen had a plastic feel that would yield or bend when pressed), and improved glare characteristics

2. Revised screen layout -- similar to the 2012MY XF, we have removed the bottom row of quick link buttons allowing us to maximize the space of the 8" screen resulting in bigger buttons and an easier to read screen layout

3. Revised hard buttons -- the bottom row of quick link soft keys on the Touchscreen have been moved to the hard button panel below the Touchscreen. They are now easier to find, providing direct paths to the Navigation, Phone, Seat and Audio/Video menus

These changes went into production at the factory on December 12th.
